About us:
AMA Library is housed at AMA complex and is open to AMA Members and AMA diploma students. It is a special library on Management. It caters to the information requirement of AMA members and students. AMA library is fully computerized and barcoded.
Membership: AMA Members are welcome to use the Library facility. For borrowing books from the library, AMA members will have to pay a security deposit of Rs. 500/- on which a library card will be issued. On this card members can borrow 4 items ie. 3 books and one CD / 2 books and 2 CDs/ 1 book and 3 CDs.
Student Membership: AMA Library has now extended its facility to students also. Students can obtain Library membership by filling in the prescribed form and presenting appropriate identification documents with 2 photographs and residential address in Gujarat (driving license, passport, official ID card, etc.). Students must produce their current year’s identity card. The applicant is given a library card on completing the application form and paying the membership fees of Rs 1000/- (Rs. 500.00 non-refundable and Rs.500/- as security). Student can borrow 2 books for 14 days
OUR COLLECTION:
BOOKS: AMA library is a special library on management. It has a collection of 26000 books, The core area is management and its auxiliary subjects. Apart from this we have a good collection of books on self development Indian economy, industries. We have maintained a valuable collection of books on WTO, International Trade, Tourism and Healthcare.
PERIODICALS: AMA Library is subscribing to 250 magazines and journals .
ARTICLES: Library is indexing all important articles from these 250 magazines. Members can access information on various subjects from the 20000 computerized records which can be accessed through our library software.
NEWSPAPER CLIPPINGS: Library subscribes to 16 newspapers, and all important news items are classified for reference into 250 different subjects headings. This is a very valuable source of information
REFERENCE BOOKS: There is an updated collection of trade directories on exports, industries, pharma and chemical, fertilizer, ports, advertising, plastics, Tourism, Indian economy, education, insurance, Banking, dictionaries etc.
LANGUAGE LEARNING: Language learning facility is provided through audio cassette. The languages included are English, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, Business English and Russian .This facility is provided at a nominal cost of Rs 400/- for 30 hours and is purely on self learning basis, tape recorder, cassettes, head phone will be provided by the library.
CDs: We have a good collection of nearly 800 CDs. Members can issue these Cds for 30 days period.
WEBLIOGRAPHIC : List of URLs available on a specific topic is compiled into a webliography and available through OPAC.
PROJECTS: Library has a collection of project reports done by previous AMA Diploma students. These projects are for reference and cannot be issued or photocopied.
Electronic resources: Moving with the changing times AMA Library has added E- Databases for the benefit of its members. These databases are Kompass, CMIE- Capex, India Trades, Indian Harvest, Industry Analysis, NCTI, WTC, Trade portal of India.

WHAT’S NEW:
Monthly additions to the library helps the users become aware of the recent acquisitions. AMA Library is sending a list of new arrivals to all its members through emails through its e-newsletter. Library regularly publishes new addition in ‘AMA News’ and ‘Foreign Trade update’.
Library Catalogue:
The Library stock is classified using the Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme. The Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) provides users with a listing of all material available in the Library. It allows searches by keywords, or through several access points like author, title, subject, and class number. In addition to identifying the availability of a book, the OPAC also indicates whether the book is presently available or issued and its due date. Members can use the OPAC for reservation and suggestion also.
INTERNET BROWSING FACILITY FOR MEMBERS:
Library allows the users to access Internet and get the relevant information of their interest. Internet browsing facilities is only for educational purpose. It is available for members in the library @ Rs.20/- per hour.

Moving with time AMA Library has subscribed to following electronic resources which are invaluable ready reference material for members as well as our students.
Kompass is a business to business import and export directory that enables you to gather information about other companies. It has 2.3M companies in 70 countries
CMIE database
CapEx-The Guide to New Business Opportunities- is a Unique Database on New and Ongoing Investment Projects in India. The database includes about 14,000 Projects.
Indian Harvest- A Database to Discover Opportunities in Agriculture- Brings to you detailed Statistics on acreage, production, yield, price and trade. It also provides detailed data on inputs—land, rainfall, fertilizer consumption, etc.
India Trades- The Key to Trade Opportunities- provides India’s foreign trade data. A powerful software system enables quick and easy access to the voluminous data to analyze and explore trade opportunities.
Industry Analysis Service (IAS)- It contains information on 100 industries.. The information presented and analyzed includes Production, Exports, Imports, Consumption and Domestic and International Prices.
National centre for trade information- Online access to live export import trade leads, trade enquiries from Embassies and mission abroad, Information on overseas tender, product specific trade statistics, trade regulations .
Trade portal of India- Contains online country profile, company profile, trade information and Trade fairs information.
LIBRARY POLICY
- Only Members can access the AMA Library.
- Please bring the library membership card while visiting the AMA Library else you will not be able to use the library facilities.
- If your membership card is lost, please report it immediately to the Library staff. A duplicate card will be issued on payment of Rs.50/-.
- Membership is not transferable for use by other individuals, business associates, or family members.
- Members are requested to notify the AMA Library of any change in address & phone no.
- Members are requested not to take personal books, folders, bags etc. inside the library.
- If anyone is found defacing, marking, cutting, mutilating or damaging book and non-book materials in any way, he/she will be liable to punishment ranging from full replacement cost of the materials or expulsion from the library facilities.
- Silence should be maintained inside the library.
- The AMA Library staff has the right to examine the personal belongings of the user. We are not responsible for lost of personal belongings or valuables of users.

- Please submit the membership card before using Internet and online database access facility
- The AMA Library reserves the right to restrict admission and to cancel the enrollment of any person who does not comply with the library policy and the AMA regulations.
- AMA Library privileges must be exercised personally; designating proxies for library use is not permitted
