SUMMARY
The world is passing through a very fast changing and uncertain business environment. Geopolitical uncertainty, characterized by instability in international relations, trade policies, and global conflicts, poses significant risks for export businesses.
These uncertainties can disrupt supply chains, increase costs, and impact market demand, potentially leading to reduced export volumes and revenue. On the other hand, these conflicts also present business opportunities for the alert exporter.
The war in Ukraine and Gaza, continued Middle East tension in one form or another, Trump’s tariff war which started with China now engulfs the entire world are some of the recent examples.
Diversification of markets, supply chain resilience, using technology digitisation etc. are some of the means for mitigating the risks in international trade. This session will discuss the strategies for navigating geopolitical uncertainty.
By streamlining market access and easing regulatory bottlenecks, the agreement marks a strategic shift, making India a pivotal partner in the UK’s global trade strategy post-Brexit and charting the course for a robust economic future.
