ZEN-KAIZEN AT AMA is a Joint Endeavour of the Japan Information & Study Centre at the Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA) and the Indo-Japan Friendship Association (IJFA), Gujarat supported by the Hyogo International Association (HIA), Japan to promote the Kaizen Spirit of ‘Forever in Pursuit for Excellence’ and Japanese Soft Skills & Business Culture.

Set up with the Vision of facilitating Meditative Learning in the Scintillating Ambience of a Kaizen Hall and Gorgeous Elegance of a Traditional Japanese Zen Garden, Zen-Kaizen at AMA showcases several elements of Japanese Art, Culture, Landscape and Architecture unfolding Japan in its Vibrant Colour and Splendour!

Reservation for visiting Zen-Kaizen at AMA

  • The Japanese Zen Garden is open to the public and the Reservation can be done through an online mode on AMA’s Website.
  • Reservation will start before 4 Weeks or 28 days and close before 2 Days or 48 Hours.
  • Confirmation will be given (during working days – in two to three days) by AMA after the completion of the Registration Process i.e. making payment of the Registration Fees of Rs. 50/- per person (all above one year’s old) including GST and submission of the Form. Payment of Registration can be made online. Fees once paid will not be refunded.
  • Please note that in the monsoon during the rain and after rain, the Zen-Kaizen will remain closed.
  • The Zen Garden will remain open from 6:15 pm to 7:45 pm on Thursday to Saturday (except public holidays).
  • There would be total three time slots on each day on Thursday to Saturday i.e.
    • 6:15 to 6:45 pm;
    • 6:45 to 7:15 pm; and
    • 7:15 to 7:45 pm.
  • In Each slot of 30 minutes, at a time maximum 30 persons will be allowed to visit the garden. The validity of the entry pass is 30 minutes.
  • Please produce a valid photo ID while visiting the Garden.
  • The privileges must be exercised personally; designating proxies and visit of the ZEN-KAIZEN at AMA for professional photography, video recording, shooting or commercial purpose is not permitted.
  • Please visit the Garden on the Reserved Date and during the booked time slot.
  • The reservation cannot be rescheduled. Please avoid informal communications and frequent emails.
  • AMA reserves the right to restrict admission and cancel the Reservation, Registration and visit of any person who does not comply with the policy and regulations.

Garden Etiquette & Policy

A very warm Welcome to the Japanese Zen Garden and Kaizen Academy at AMA! While visiting the Zen Garden and Kaizen Academy, please help us to protect and maintain the Zen Garden by observing following policy:

  • The Garden is a tobacco-free environment. Smoking and tobacco products are not allowed on Garden, including all seminar rooms, restrooms and parking of AMA Premises.
  • Parking is available on the first-come first-served basis.
  • For the safety, please supervise children at all times.
  • Climbing, running, sports or games are not permitted in the Garden.
  • Disposable plastics are strictly not allowed inside the campus.
  • Please leave flowers and plants for everyone to enjoy. Do not collect or remove seeds, flowers, fruits, and vegetables, plant labels, etc.
  • Stay on pathways. Please do not walk in the Dry Garden, mulched or planted garden beds, and mowed lawn areas.
  • Do not feed or handle the wildlife. It can be harmful to them and you.
  • For safety, please keep your personal items or belongings with you at all times. We cannot be held responsible for loss and missing items. If you recover an item in the Garden that does not belong to you, please turn it in to the security point.
  • Be aware that many of the plants grown in the garden may be poisonous to eat or that may cause a skin irritation if touched.
  • Please refrain from lying down on Gazebo or floor in the Kaizen Academy, so that other visitors may have a chance to visit.
  • Proper dressings are mandatory at all times.
  • Food is restricted in the Garden and AMA premises.
  • We care about the environment. Please dispose of waste in recycle bins when appropriate. Please do not litter.
  • Washrooms are located at two different parts of the AMA building: one is near the Garden on the Ground Floor and the second one is on the First Floor. Ask the security point or an Information Desk for information and directions.
