SUMMARY
There is a mistaken view that Shipbuilding & Data Centre clusters coming up in Gujarat as well as other parts of the country are only for large companies. Nothing is father from the truth. Gujarat is at the centre of two of India’s most ambitious industrial pushes — a ₹27,000 crore Shipbuilding & Repair Policy targeting 50 lakh DWT capacity, and a ₹6 lakh crore Data Centre Policy aiming for 7.5–8 GW of “Green AI” capacity anchored at Dholera. Together, these policies are opening one of the largest vendor and services opportunities Gujarat’s MSME sector has seen in a generation — and much of it remains genuinely unclaimed.
This workshop is designed to help entrepreneurs and business owners understand exactly where they fit into these two supply chains, and how capacity built for Gujarat’s domestic boom can also become export-ready capacity, given rising global demand in both sectors.
COVERAGE
- The Gujarat Shipbuilding & Repair Policy 2026 and Viksit Gujarat Data Centre Policy 2026–29, decoded — investment scale, incentives, and what’s actually available to MSMEs Ÿ Where the money really goes: ~60% of a ship’s build cost flows to ancillary vendors, not the shipyard itself — and the equivalent vendor-and-services opportunity in data centre construction and operations
- Concrete entry points by investment scale — Small and Medium Enterprise categories across fabrication, electricals, HVAC, cooling, facility management, and specialist certification services
- Financing and subsidy pathways — MSME procurement subsidies, CGTMSE/MUDRA, export credit, and central schemes layered on top of state incentives
- The export bridge — how certification built to win a domestic Gujarat contract (classification society approval, Uptime Institute/ISO standards) opens doors to global shipbuilding, yacht-building, and ship-repair markets as well
