Branding – Your Company’s Identity Card

Posted by : Prachi Goswami

There has been a dilemma amongst the traditional business developers, that branding only consists of getting a logo designed, deciding colors for your brand, and locking certain elements. Instead, Branding is creating an identity card for your business. Consider it as giving your organization a personality.

In this era of Social Media, it is important for brands to have a unique presence, making a mark on people’s minds. The ongoing competition includes the consumers getting exposed to multiple brands, every single day. This is where your branding comes into the picture, for people to perceive your business in a manner that is relatable, comfortable and authentic.

Even though we can’t stress it enough, branding plays a key role for any company to stand out of the crowd.

Getting your brand identified by a larger audience

The best example of this is McDonald’s logo, and its colors. Everytime, you see a “M” similar to McDonald’s logo, you’re directly taken back to your memories of the brand. Red and yellow color combinations are other ways that help you identify the brand. Branding gives your company a name and a face to begin with, which are necessary to identify anyone or anything.

Branding essentially creates a memorable impression on consumers, allowing the customers to know what has to be expected from the company, while distinguishing your organization from the competitors.

Significant Increase in Business Value

When generating new business, it is important to portray a strong message through your identity. The business’ value can be established by making an appealing investment towards how it is supposed to look like. When you manage to firmly establish that, the audience tends to follow upon it, by relating it to their personal lives, and hence making a firm connection to the brand.

The values that the branding portrays tends to influence in many ways, including decision making processes. The branding and identity is a business’ asset towards a progressive and growing organization.

Establishing Authenticity and Trust

The reputation of a brand is created by the trust that it instills in its consumers. The perception of it is produced by the brand itself, then it is upon the audience to absorb it in a rightful manner. Branding is perceived as the right way to maintain a seat at the market’s table by establishing a realistic position amongst its audience and competitors.

Branding is definitely not something that can be achieved in a day, just like Rome wasn’t built in one. It’s a consistent process that when established can fruit into greater results.
