INTRODUCTION AND THEME FOR THE INDO-JAPAN FOTO-FEST:

The Indo-Japan Foto-Fest is a Unique & Imaginative Initiative to champion the cause of Japan-India Friendship through promotion of the Art of Photography.

The Event has been inspired to commemorate the Second Anniversary of ZEN-KAIZEN AT AMA, which was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi on 27th June, 2021. ‘Zen-Kaizen at AMA’ represents the Zen Garden & Kaizen Academy at the premises of the Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA) and has come to be acknowledged as a Popular Showcase of Japanese Art, Culture, Landscape and Architecture!

In view of the above, ‘Zen-Kaizen at AMA’ has been chosen as the Theme and Location of the Contest for the Foto-Fest.

TERMS & CONDITIONS OF THE FOTO-FEST WORKSHOP AND CONTEST 2023      

1. ENTRY TO THE FOTO-FEST CONTEST:

·         Participation for the Contest at the Indo-Japan Foto-Fest is Open to all Individuals (18 Years and above).

·         Preliminary Registration for Initial Screening and Selection of Participants for the Final Contest shall be Free.

·         Entries selected through Initial Screening for Final Participation at the Contest shall carry a Registration Fee of Rs. 500/-.

·         Registered Participants for the Foto-Contest shall be entitled to Free Participation at the Workshops.

·         All others interested to participate in the Workshop can join through Payment of Registration Fees of Rs.500/-.

Any person willing to participate in the Photo Contest will have to fill out the Registration Form available at: https://www.amaindia.org/contest/

The PRELIMINARY REGISTRATION is compulsory.

The PRELIMINARY REGISTRATION along with required information and SUBMISSION OF SPECIMEN PHOTO FOR SCREENING TEST from the potential participant should reach on or before Wednesday, 7th June, 2023. Kindly register with the given link covering all terms and conditions.

FINAL SELECTION OF PARTICIPANTS FOR FOTO-FEST CONTEST:

The registered participants will be short-listed on the basis of the submitted information and professional skills; and will be informed on the registered email by Friday, 9th June, 2023 from AMA.

The short-listed participant should pay Fees Rs. 500/- after receiving the confirmation e-mail from AMA. The Selected Participant should complete the process for FINAL REGISTRATION by Tuesday, 13th June, 2023 and CONFIRM PARTICIPATION.

SCHEDULE OF FOTO-FEST WORKSHOP AND CONTEST:

The WORKSHOP will be conducted on Saturday, 17th June 2023 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Please verify your registration between 9:00 am to 10:00 am.

The CONTEST will be organized on Saturday, 17th June, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm; and continue to till Sunday, 18th June, 2023 from 6:00 am to 12:00 noon.
2. The photographs should be taken strictly from a Digital SLR / DLIC. Photographs taken from Cellphones of any kind are not allowed to participate in the contest.
3. SUBMISSION OF FINAL PHOTOS FOR THE CONTEST:

The short-listed participants would be given two themes for the Contest. The participants will have to click the photographs according to the given theme at the venue and submit the one photograph for each theme to AMA representatives at the venue itself by 2:00 pm on Sunday, 18th June, 2023

The Photographs should be captured on the basis of the given themes only and Participants are required to provide a unique title for each image submitted.

The Photograph should be in JPEG/150 dpi or more dpi recommended format only. The Photograph submitted must be at least 150 pixels on the shorter side.

Images should be no larger than 20 MB. Recommended File size should be up to 20 MB of image data per work.

Each participant will be required to submit only one photograph per theme. It is up to the participant to choose the photograph he/she wishes to submit at the time of submission.

All submitted photos must contain the original EXIF metadata (Focal Length, Aperture, Shutter Speed, Camera and lens) information.

However, there must be no border(s), logo(s), copyright marks, identifying marks, or any other visible references and/or marks on the image.
4. AMA shall not be liable for any error / lapse / slippage in uploading any photograph for the Photo contest.
5. In order to be eligible for the Photo Contest, the photograph taken should be digital and capable of being transferred to the Computer/Laptop. AMA shall not be responsible for any compatibility issues that may arise with such photograph.
6. Any direct or indirect cost / expenses incurred by the registered participants towards taking the photograph and participating in the Photo contest shall be borne solely by the registered participant (including the cost of travelling / visiting the venue) and AMA shall not be responsible for the same.
7. Both Color and / or black-and-white photographs are accepted in the Photo contest.
8. Objects should not be added or removed in order to enhance the shot.
9. No composite images shall be accepted in the Photo contest.
10. No participant will be allowed to see other competing entries.
11. Only in-camera editing is allowed. The photograph must not be edited outside the camera. If a photograph is manipulated then that entry would be disqualified from participating in the contest.
12. The true representation of what was captured at the time of taking picture must be maintained. Compositing and multiple exposures are not allowed. Sandwich shots, double exposure, Photographs which consist in any way of more than one separate image or which has been manipulated are not eligible.
13. All photographs will be judged on the basis of relevance to the theme, composition, sensitivity, creativity and style.
14. No responsibility is accepted for ineligible entries or entries made fraudulently.
15. The personal details of the Participants and Camera information of the participants provided at the time of registration shall become the property of AMA (including its Group Companies) for its direct / indirect marketing activities. Participation in this Photo contest is conditional on providing the above mentioned information by the participant and the participant agreeing to the above mentioned use of the information by AMA and its associates/ companies.
16. The Participants unconditionally and irrevocably grants / assigns to AMA the copyright of the photograph submitted for the Photo contest and which shall be used by AMA for its future marketing activities. In case the photograph is of an individual, then such photograph will be accepted for the photo contest only when the participants will provide the consent / NOC letter from such an individual for the use of his/her photograph by AMA for AMA’s future marketing activities as well as the document for transfer of the copyright in such photograph in favour of AMA. In case of any third party claim against AMA including on account of any third party Intellectual Property Rights violation related to photographs submitted for participating in the contest, the Participant will indemnify AMA for the same.
17. The winners shall be announced during the Award Ceremony on Tuesday, 27th June, 2023 and will be awarded Prizes as decided by the organizers. The Certificate of Participation will be given to an individual who will be qualifying for the submitted photo and such Selected Participant who will join the Workshop / Contest will be eligible for receiving the Certificate of Participation.
18. AMA reserves the right to request for a valid identity proof and other requisite documents from the Winners of the Photo Contest.
19. The Photography Contest offers various Prizes.
20. Photographs submitted by Participants must be entirely their own work. All images must be original and must be taken / clicked by the participants submitting the photograph.
21. The participant hereby confirms that the Photographs submitted by him shall neither be in violation of any third party Intellectual Property Rights / any law nor shall be defamatory / obscene / vulgar or detrimental to National interest or prejudicial to the interest of AMA, its group companies or society in general.
22. AMA reserves the absolute right to reject any photograph which is obscene / vulgar or defamatory or detrimental to National interest or prejudicial to the interest of AMA, its group company or society in general or violates any third party IP Rights / any law.
23. AMA reserves the right, at any time, to disqualify any Participant who submits the photograph that is not in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the photo contest or who tampers with the entry process.
24. The Photo Contest cannot be combined with or clubbed with any other scheme and/or offer from AMA, subsisting or announced at a future date by AMA.
25. The Photo Contest is not open to AMA employees and/or their family members / partners / associates.
26. The Photo Contest shall be void, if prohibited by law.
27. Failure by AMA to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
28. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, AMA (including its officers, directors, employees and agents) excludes all liability for any loss or damage, whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising/associated in any way out of this photo contest.
29. This is a promotional Photo Contest and all decisions on the eligibility / registration of any participant or acceptance of his / her photo for the photo contest or any other matter relating to this Photo Contest including the decision on selection of winners, shall be solely of AMA and the decision of AMA shall be final and binding on the participants.

AMA reserve the right to cancel or amend all or any part of the contest and/or these Rules without notice due to any event that is outside of AMA’s reasonable control. Any changes to the Rules, or cancellation of the contest, will be posted on www.amaindia.org It is the responsibility of participants to keep themselves informed as to any changes to the Rules.
30. Any dispute arising out of this photo contest shall be subject to Indian Laws and the courts of Ahmedabad shall have exclusive jurisdiction over the matters arising out of this Photo Contest.
