SUMMARY

Our exports of Electrical Engineering products grew by 16% in 2023-24.

Some of the factors contributing to the growth of this sector include:

  • The average labour cost is significantly low compared with other countries.
  • Our ability to successfully commission multi-billion-dollar overseas projects
  • There is a wealth of raw material resources to meet the demands of the industry.
  • Industries such as wires & cables, transformers, switching & safety equipment, mobile phones etc. have global capabilities and are competitive at the global level.
  • India is also preferred by global companies as a strategic base for market entries into other developing countries.
  • China+1 strategy for diversifying supply chain

New markets such as Russia are opening where our exports of electrical products went up by 240% between 2022-2024.

The future success and growth depend on a continuous endeavour to develop new products in line with customers’ changing demands as well as ability to bring greater depth to markets such as GCC and Iraq. This workshop will focus on the changing market conditions and electrical products which have significant potential.
