SUMMARY
The Government of India has identified several sunrise export sectors where it finds India has a global competitive advantage and where we can increase exports manifold. These sectors include pharmaceuticals & medical devices, automotive, processed food, synthetic textiles, chemicals, technical textiles, fisheries, services, defence & aviation, electronics, clean energy & gems and jewellery. Very recently shipbuilding has been added to this list.
Gujarat is globally competitive in most of these sectors and post Covid19, there would be greater opportunities in raising our exports in these sectors. In sunrise sectors, we can stay ahead of competition from emerging economies which are giving stiff competition in our traditional labour intensive export sectors such as garments and leather products.
This workshop will showcase the export opportunities in these sunrise globally competitive sectors.
